“When your friend takes you to Durban beaches after you’ve been to Clifton.”

The chap compared Durban to Cape Town, which locals did not like. They thought Naadir was being stuck-up and snobbish after making his comment.

People from Durban fired shots at the man and roasted Cape Town beaches in the comments. The locals explained that it was more enjoyable to swim in Durban beaches than it is in Cape Town, as the water temperature is different.

They highlighted that it is unbearable to swim in Clifton or any other beach in Cape Town, as the water is always freezing. People from Durban agreed that beaches in the Mother City are just for aesthetics.

“Comparing Clifton Beach to South Beach is wild.”

@LIQUORBARN wondered:

“Now, shouldn't you compare beaches similar to Clifton, like Zimbali Beach or Umhlanga Beach?”

@Tshepi highlighted:

“Clifton is so for aesthetics. Durban beaches are for swimming.”

@Just_a_guy said:

“Homie is acting like he lives in Clifton. Durban beaches match the aesthetic of the lives that the people live. CT people go to Camps Bay and Clifton for pictures and then go back over the mountain home to the ghetto. So why are you acting too good for Durban as if your lifestyle isn’t just as bleak?”

@Naadir responded:

“Lol, at least we have somewhere nice to go to after being bleak the whole day. Imagine being depressed, then going here.”

“Lol, choosing a cloudy day. Come on, it's a sunny day. That water is lovely and warm. And it's beautiful to see black people enjoying the beach. Durbs just vibes upon vibes, baby. And yup, I live in the Cape but hate that y'all are putting Durbs down to make the Cape shine.”
