Teenagers from Cape Town were stunned after visiting Parklands College and seeing its state-of-the-art facilities. What South Africans couldn't believe after seeing the TikTok post was that Parklands College had a restaurant establishment inside.

On 16 August, 2025, one of the Somerset College girls in the video stated that they had visited Parklands College for a derby and spotted Kauai at the school.

According to Kauai's website, they are only located at Parklands College and American International School Cape Town. Their adapted school menus feature a variety of wraps, sandwiches, and snacks taken from the Kauai menu. Hot meals and smoothies are also available daily.

What does Parklands College have to offer?

Parklands College, which boasts 25 hectares of land shared between campuses for children from pre-primary to Grade 12, is an Apple Distinguished School and produces cutting-edge educational technology.

With school fees ranging from R60 000 to R143 000, the school can afford to offer Robotics App Development, Digital Electronics, Film and Animation, eSports, and more specialised courses.

In terms of sports, the school has half-Olympic and Olympic-sized swimming pools for aquatic activities, cricket nets and ovals, and courts for tennis and netball.

One shouldn't count out Somerset College

The school fees prove to be more expensive than Parklands College, ranging from R62 000 to R182 000. Here, learners can enjoy golf, hockey, squash, and rowing, to name a few sports. Cultural activities include visual arts and design, art exhibitions and theatre productions.
