A young Cape Town woman is being celebrated online after sharing the exciting news that she had bought her very own shack with cash. TikTok user @esona_vellem posted the video on 1 August 2026, standing proudly inside her new home, which was already furnished and looking lived-in.

A big step towards independence

She referred to herself as a "2K" — a term for those born in the year 2000 — making the achievement all the more impressive given her age. The creator told her followers she had paid cash for the shack and had already moved in, making the moment feel as real and grounded as it gets.
