Residents in Zeerust’s Ward 7 in the North West province made their feelings about the ANC very clear on 3 September 2026. A video shared by @newsnexussa on TikTok captured the moment a community member pulled a man off a ladder as he was attempting to attach an ANC candidate poster to a pole. The resident was not having it.
South Africa is preparing for its 2026 municipal elections scheduled for 4 November 2026, and ANC campaigners have been facing a rough reception across the country. Reports of canvassers being turned away from homes, chased out of communities, and confronted in public spaces have emerged in the lead-up to the vote.
Zeerust resident draws the line
