A South African farm mom shared her journey to becoming a millionaire in a TikTok video posted on 28 September 2026. Known online as @themillionmum, she filmed herself in a moving car, speaking with raw emotion about what the last two years had cost her and what they had given her in return.
She described her life before the business as one of genuine financial strain. On the 22nd of each month, the fridge would be empty and she could not afford the fuel to drive into town for groceries. She was a full-time mom living on a farm, baking bread, making homemade snacks and raising her children without any outside help or formal employment.
From empty fridges to a million rand
In spite of those circumstances, she invested in an online business. She admitted that the day she made that investment was the most frightening moment of the entire journey, because she had no certainty it would work. Twenty-six months later, her business had generated R1 million in profit.

The change in her daily life is tangible. She recently stocked the fridge ahead of a family weekend, bought her children a jungle gym scheduled for installation on 5 October, and took her kids on seven holidays, most of which involved flights rather than short drives to a local restaurant.
She was clear that her success required no degree and no employer.
