A South African woman living in the United States broke down in tears of joy after fulfilling a promise she had made to her mother years before. TikTok creator @rethabilemoloi23 posted the emotional video on 20 October 2026, showing the before and after of her family home's renovation.
The footage captured what the house looked like before, with plastic-lined ceilings and unfinished floors, and what it became after her funding: tiled rooms, plastered walls, and fully furnished spaces. Her mother had raised her as a single parent, working as a domestic worker to build the family's first bedroom.
