A man who took his baby to his mechanic workshop to care for her is receiving donations from kind-hearted social media users.

The man, James Emina, was first noticed by a customer who visited the mechanic workshop to have his car fixed.

Wife left due to mental health challenges

According to Emina, his wife had left him and the 7-month-old baby because she was having mental challenges.

When a photo of Emina and his baby was shared on Facebook, it went viral and touched the hearts of many Nigerians.

People are now donating money to the baby named Blessing, and donations have risen to R3,346.

James receives cash donations for his baby

According to Cornelius Ellah, the head of the department of mass communication at the University of Cross River State (UNICROS), who posted the photo, the donations were sent by netizens.

He said:

"I visited baby Blessing and her Dad in their residence some minutes ago to deliver an envelope containing what was recently paid to them through me. The envelope contained R117 received from someone who prefers to remain anonymous and R586 from another person who equally prefers to remain anonymous.

"Similarly, I visited them two days ago to deliver the sum of R2,638.This arose from R1,407 received from Anwulika Udanoh Bobbitt, R586 received from Ezinwa Nlewedim, R117 received from Uzzystouch, N40,000 received from someone who prefers to remain anonymous and R58 received from someone who also prefers to remain anonymous."

Emina had said he desired to take his wife to a psychiatric hospital for treatment but lacked the money to do so.

Meanwhile, Briefly News shared that Former Big Brother Mzansi contestant McJunior recently asked netizens for donations. This was after he won the R2 million prize, leaving fans to wonder why he wanted more money.

Mzansi was outraged by McJunior's pleas, saying he was greedy despite being a millionaire.
