Seeking proof of alleged lies

The woman pleaded with those who had shared news of this supposed confession to provide her with concrete proof. She asserted that she did not wish to continue repeating the claims without verifying evidence. She recounted facing verbal abuse and being sworn at by people online when she previously voiced her doubts about the case. The woman promised her audience that she would indeed share the proof once it was presented to her, maintaining her critical stance on the widely publicised narrative.

Mzansi debates the alleged lies and rumours

The clip triggered widespread discussion among social media users. Many expressed scepticism about the alleged confession, suggesting that if Cwecwe's mother had admitted to lying, it might have been under duress or blackmail. These users largely reiterated their belief in the mother's original story despite the new claims.

Some expressed disappointment at the thought of the mother potentially fabricating such a sensitive and serious matter. Others questioned @daffodilxiluvamayongo, asking what personal vendetta she held against Cwecwe's mother. Justice sought for Cwecwe after alleged assault

In October 2024, a seven-year-old girl known publicly as Cwecwe was allegedly assaulted while waiting for transport at Bergview College in Matatiele, Eastern Cape. Instead of helping with the investigation, the school reportedly handed her mother a transfer letter, sparking national outrage and the #JusticeForCwecwe campaign, which demanded accountability and stronger safety measures in schools.

The Eastern Cape Department of Education responded by condemning Bergview College, citing its failure to protect learners and cooperate with authorities.

The National Prosecuting Authority has confirmed it will not pursue charges in the Cwecwe case due to insufficient evidence, including no foreign DNA found during medical examination and no eyewitness testimony connecting anyone to the alleged assault.
