Local content creator DadsOver40 provided women looking to become stay-at-home mothers with advice about taking on the job. He noted that while it may look like a glamorous lifestyle on the outside, it is not all that it's cut out to be.
Sharing on his TikTok account on 19 June, 2025 that women should "read the job description carefully," the man stated:
"For most people, it's a fancy thing that they can't handle. To some degree, it's a scam because there's a narrative that it's a 'soft life.' You can't handle it because you don't have the family structure, resources, and mental capacity to be a stay-at-home mom."

DadsOver40 further shared:
"It's a full-time job. In fact, it may be worse than any corporate job you’ve ever had."
He noted that one should be mentally prepared because it is also important to have an identity.
"You can lose your identity. You can't just be making lunch boxes, dropping off, picking up, doing maths, extracurriculars, and sports. You can't be waiting for your husband to get home and listen to his work drama and politics.
"You also need to have your thing."

@mpho_nergy told the online community:
"It’s so depressing. It's the same routine every day. You barely have time to take care of yourself, and you’re always taking care of everyone else."
@user76493876365729 shared their experience, writing:
"I'm a stay-at-home mom of three with two nannies, a tutor and a driver. I’m thankful that my husband wanted me to get help. He insisted, and as our kids grow, I see why he wanted me to get all the help. Stay-at-home moms need a lot of help."
@goodiemud added in the comments:
"Having the same routine every day drives me nuts."
@angiearmstrong130 revealed under the post:
"It's so hard and definitely not a soft life. I homeschool both of my kids."
@senzekilemalangad shared a positive experience of the job:
"I planned for it. I don’t miss my 9-5. I love it here. For those who love working and love the people at work, don’t do it. It is for someone who is a loner and disciplined in terms of pushing themselves to grow."
