Tina Knowles-Lawson marked Beyoncé's 45th birthday on 4 September 2026 with a throwback hospital photo that stopped people mid-scroll. The image, taken 45 years ago, shows a visibly exhausted but glowing Tina cradling her newborn daughter for the very first time.

Alongside the photo, Tina wrote that Beyoncé took nine hours to arrive and that the moment they locked eyes was one she has never forgotten.

"The connection is so strong and so beautiful and so powerful," she said. "It's never been broken and it never will."

The post was a love letter as much as a birthday tribute. Tina praised her daughter not for her fame or her records, but for her character, pointing to Beyoncé's generosity as the quality she is most proud of. She called her "an extraordinary human being first," someone who keeps creating, loving and lifting others even through what she described as "sometimes terrible noise."

A bond that started in a hospital room

Tina Knowles is a fashion designer, philanthropist and businesswoman who has been closely tied to her daughter's journey since the beginning. She styled Destiny's Child during their rise and later co-founded the clothing line House of Deréon alongside Beyoncé. More recently, the two launched the haircare brand Cécred together in 2024, with Tina serving as vice chairperson.

Beyoncé, born in Houston, Texas, is the most awarded artist in Grammy history. She rose to global fame as the lead singer of Destiny's Child before building one of the most celebrated solo careers in music.
