According to SABC News, party leader Mmusi Maimane outlined the strategy at a media briefing held in Rosebank, Johannesburg, ahead of the party's manifesto launch scheduled for next Thursday. Central to BOSA's approach is a deliberate departure from conventional political candidate selection.

Instead of fielding career politicians, the party plans to recruit and deploy professionals from sectors including engineering, education, social work, and healthcare to stand as community representatives in council chambers. Maimane said the move reflects BOSA's intent to bring technical competence and accountability to local government, areas where many municipalities have struggled to deliver basic services.
