KRUGERSDORP, GAUTENG — At least 17 people were injured in an accident involving 12 vehicles in Krugersdorp, Gauteng, on 28 August 2025.

According to eNCA, a truck lost control and could not brake on Hendrick Potgieter Road and collided with another truck. The collision caused a pile-up in which 18 vehicles were involved. The road was closed for the morning, and fortunately, no fatalities were recorded.

About 17 people were taken to hospitals for minor injuries. Some of the vehicles managed to turn and face the opposite sides of the road, averting a collision. However, some were not able to turn on time.

Recent accidents

Six people were killed in a horrific Mpumalanga accident between two trucks on the R42 on 18 August 2025. The accident happened when two trucks collided with each other near Delmas. One of the vehicles was stationary when the other truck rammed into its rear.

A truck and a minibus collided with each other on the N3 in KwaZulu-Natal on 23 August. Four people lost their lives in the accident, which happened near Bergville.

Two children were among five people who were killed in an accident in Tafelkop, Limppo, on 25 August 2025. The two sedans crashed into each other on the R542, and the drivers of the vehicles were transported to the hospital.

Trucks and that road and the R28 intersection is a big problem almost weekly."

"This is bad ijoooo! Will the truck company be able to recover all those cars?"

"Lock up the owner of the truck for having an obviously unroadworthy vehicle. Far too many of these deathtraps are driving around on our roads."

"And there is a school that is coming out soon, so they need to hurry up and open that road."

Taxi crash leaves 19 injured

In a related article, Briefly News reported that 19 children were injured when a taxi driver crashed into a wall in Chatsworth, KwaZulu-Natal. The accident happened in the afternoon of 26 August 205.

The children, who are aged between four and 12, sustained various injuries in the accident. The taxi was transporting children home from school when the driver lost control of the taxi. He crashed into the wall of a nearby building. Paramedics rushed to the scene, and members of the community assisted in contacting the parents.
