TEMPLE VALLEY, KWAZULU-NATAL — A teenager from Temple Valley in KwaZulu-Natal stabbed and killed a suspected would-be robber who tried to stab him and his pregnant girlfriend.
According to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), the incident happened on 16 September 2025 in the afternoon. The 19-year-old boy and his 16-year-old girlfriend were walking along Garland Street when the incident happened.
Robber attacked couple with knife
The suspect, armed with a knife, demanded that the couple hand over their valuables. The teenagers resisted, and the robber attacked. He tried to stab the girlfriend, who was pregnant, but the boyfriend grabbed the attacker's knife. He took his own knife out and stabbed the suspect in the chest. The suspect escaped and later died from his wounds after RUSA officers located him in a nearby bush.

Alleged robbers killed
Four suspects were killed in a shootout with the South African Police Service in Riverlea on 12 July 2025. The suspects reportedly robbed a business in the Johannesbug Central Business District. The police tracked them down and tried to arrest them. However, the suspects opened fire, and a gunfight ensued. The suspects were fatally shot.
Two suspected robbers were shot and killed in KwaMashu, KwaZulu-Natal, on 1 September. The police tracked the suspects down to a hideout. When they announced their presence, the suspects opened fire, and the police returned fire, killing them. A police officer was wounded.

2 dead after Boksburg CIT heist
In a related article, Briefly News reported that two people were killed during a shootout between a security company and robbers during a cash-in-transit heist. The incident happened in Boksburg on 1 September.
