"It happened in the north of Johannesburg ... I was living on a farm there," he said.

He explained that he fired at a mob of up to eight men, leaving three dead. He also alleged that he suffered some hearing loss as a result of the shooting, and now always carries a firearm with him.

"They just came into the house, after breaking through the electric fence, and started shooting at my [then]-six-year-old daughter and I.”

He added that he then fired back, which he believes caught them by surprise. He added that he didn’t know what the men wanted, but alleged that two white girls had been sexually assaulted the night before on a nearby farm. He speculated that his daughter could have been next.

“I thought they wanted to rent the place, but the one guy raised his left hand and fired a gun at me, but he missed," Musk claimed.

He also alleged that the men fired 52 shots at him, which all missed, but that he only fired two shots and killed three people.
