A burst water pipe in Bryanston, Gauteng, became the most talked-about car wash in the suburb after a video of drivers making the most of the situation went viral on TikTok on 27 August 2026.

TikToker @luciddeejay shared footage showing motorists lining up and carefully driving over the spot where water was shooting up from the road, letting the spray rinse their cars clean. One by one, drivers took their turn, seemingly unbothered by the fact that a burst municipal pipe was the source of their impromptu valet service.
