RANDBURG — The Randburg Magistrates’ Court laid bare allegations of sexual abuse aimed at suspended deputy national police commissioner Lt Gen Shadrack Sibiya during his ongoing bail hearing. Sibiya was recently arrested and charged with various sex crimes.

According to IOL, State witness Detective Nokukhanya Ndlovu took the stand on 1 October 2026 during his latest court appearance and testified that the high-ranking law enforcement official allegedly coerced young girls into heavy drinking and twerking while playing "Dare or Double Dare" at Sandton club The Grand. When the girls resisted, alcohol was continuously supplied until one collapsed.

Shadrack Sibiya faces severe charges in court

Sibiya now faces six criminal counts, including rape, human trafficking, child sexual grooming, and illegal firearm possession. Arrested by the Commission Recommendations Task Team following findings by the Madlanga Commission, Sibiya's charges stem from a May 16 incident where he allegedly raped an 18-year-old at a Sandton hotel after she lost consciousness. He is also accused of sending explicit messages to a 16-year-old associate's daughter.

Shadrack Sibiya maintains his innocence

Ndlovu detailed how Sibiya allegedly chaperoned the four teens to the club, covered their expenses, and smuggled liquor under his jacket into their room. WhatsApp records exposed interactions where Sibiya probed about future visits and expressed anxiety over the inquiry into his conduct. Ndlovu added that upon his arrest, Sibiya claimed his child was locked in a cupboard. Sibiya maintains his innocence as bail proceedings continue.

Sibiya faces additional charges
