Mamelodi Sundowns coach Steve Komphela has responded to a fan who suggested that he is under a bad luck spell.
The fan alleges that the former Golden Arrows and Kaizer Chiefs manager has been around in the beautiful game but has nothing to show for it when it comes to gold medals.
Komphela’s move to Masandawana was questioned by many in the football fraternity, some arguing that he will end the Sundowns' dominance regarding trophies.
However, the Brazilians managed to retain their league title this week beating SuperSport United 3-1 and Komphela has since responded on Twitter.
Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi also praised Komphela’s influence in their tactical planning and also touched on the issue of ‘bad luck. He said:
“I cannot explain how excited I am because it was one of the reasons we felt he should join us because we believe he’s got the ability. He had done a tremendous job with Kaizer Chiefs and was very unfortunate not to win a trophy.”
The DStv Premiership became the first major title the former Bafana Bafana skipper has ever won and is now a proud man, considering his recent tweet. @BikoTheRealist took to his Twitter page to wage a war against the fluent manager, saying he has nothing personal against the former defender.
“The truth hurts and he knows it too. What has he achieved individually in as far as coaching is concerned? Nothing personal!!”
The former Free State Stars defender didn’t like the argument and responded on his feed:
“Personal achievements? You don’t want to peep through my personal life. Let’s keep it at your level. It pains me so much more when you are in such pain to want to see more of my humble strength. You’ll suffer more in an attempt to see my humble strength.”

"Mr Biko, why are you making an unnecessary effort to make such comments. Even if you don't rate coach Steve, I don't think it's necessary for you to make such comments about him special at this moment of celebration for him.”

"It's always Twitter handles with numbers that are problematic. I'm an Orlando Pirates fan but I grew up with Bra Steve playing fantastic football at chiefs and Bafana. Give the man some respect he played overseas. Bra Steve is a legend. This boys ba maminanyana are disrespectful!”

“Haters will fall one by one bro Steve. Just get more than one next season and planning properly around the North Africans in the quarter-finals. Dominance ought to continue.”

“Congratulations Bra Steve for winning the league...I don't know why you entertaining them.”

“Coach some things don't deserve a response, some people are just attention seeking and suffer from self-hate.”
