On Wednesday, it was reported that the Mamelodi Sundowns were in talks with the Kaizer Chiefs to sign Khama Billiat.

KickOff.com reported that the Brazilians are so keen on a deal that they’re willing to offer a transfer fee as well as three players in exchange.

However, the Amakhosi team has now slammed the rumours and dubbed the Sundowns behaviour "unacceptable".

Briefly.co.za gathered that in an official statement released on the Chiefs' website, the team revealed Billiat is not going anywhere.

The team revealed that it was approached by the Sundowns but they refused to sell Billiat.

The statement also added that the club was not considering to move Billiat to the Sundowns in return for money or other players as reported this week.

The Chiefs said that an official of the Sundowns misrepresented them and caused confusion and uncertainty to the fans and shareholders.

They called on the official to stop spreading lies in the media and to respect the club's rules.

The Chiefs also added that Billiat is committed to the team. The Amakhosi side said that they were considering taking legal actions after a Sundowns official was quoted spreading the "false" information in the media.

Social media users reacted to the Chiefs' news online.

Twitter user, @Lomzi_April14th, commented: "Did you really have to scare us off though. Thanks anyway."
Another tweep, @SaMmapago, added: "A case should be opened against Sundowns.. report them to the PSL."
Social media user, @Maestro38210948, wrote: "Anyone remember when John Comitis wrote a letter addressing Pitso about Ngoma? Or that time Stan Matthews came out and said Brockie is going nowhere? Fun times."
