Under-fire SAFA President Danny Jordaan to Advise CAF Boss Patrice Motsepe

Despite calls that the South African Football Association's president Danny Jordaan should resign, CAF president Patrice Motsepe has handed him a new role.
Many in the football circles believe the Eastern Cape-born administrator is the one responsible for Bafana Bafana's recent slump and that he should vacate his office.
However, he seems to be a key figure in continental football as he has just been given a new post by the former Mamelodi Sundowns president and SAFA has confirmed the developments.
Calls are mounting from the fans and retired football players and coaches for the former politician to make way for football-minded people to run the embattled football governing body.
SAFA confirmed the developments on Thursday in a statement to the media, saying the former FIFA World Cup 2010 CEO has vast experience in this area. Said SAFA:
"The Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Dr Patrice Motsepe has appointed SAFA President Dr Danny Jordaan as Advisor to the President in charge of Sport and Marketing.
"The former FIFA World Cup 2010 CEO has vast experience in this area, having served on FIFA’s Marketing and Television Board as well as CAF’s marketing in the past.
"Dr Jordaan, who was CAF Vice-President until last month’s Elective Congress in Morocco served in various departments during the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany and 2014 in Brazil and his recent appointment will add much needed value in CAF’s Marketing and Competitions departments."
Jordaan's criticism stems from the fact that the national side failed to qualify for the 2021 CAF African Cup of Nations tournament to be staged in Cameroon next year.

In addition, the FA president's absence during a press conference on Wednesday where coach Molefi Ntseki was fired has also left tongues wagging in the football fraternity.
With Ntseki having already left his post, the association has remained mum on their future plans or who will take over the powers on a caretaker basis.
Briefly.co.za recently reported that ex-Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Junior Khanye wants Pitso Mosimane to lead the team as he seemed to rejoice over Ntseki's sacking.
The outspoken retired dribbling wizard didn't mince his words as far as who his preferred candidate is, saying the former Sundowns tactician is the best.
Khanye's sentiment comes immediately after the under-fire body opted against retaining the former school teacher.
