Marcus Rashford silenced critics with a well-taken goal for Manchester United against Southampton.

The Red Devils winger has faced intense criticism in the last few weeks after they lost at home to Liverpool.

His teammate, goalkeeper Andre Onana, has given his assessment of the England star after they beat Southampton 3-0.

Erik ten Hag's side comfortably edged the Saints thanks to Rashford, Matthijs de Ligt and Alejandro Garnacho, bouncing back after the Liverpool loss.

Many fans were not happy with the Dutchman selecting Rashford in his starting eleven, but he repaid the faith.

The England international had a poor 2023/24 season, where he registered eight goals, per Transfermarkt.

Onana defends Rashford

Speaking after beating Southampton, Onana admitted Rashford wasn't great last season and was impressed with his display at Southampton.

"He had a tough season last year, you know. He wasn't at his best, like all of us, but today he showed himself, he showed he is a great player, one of the best in the world, but that's football and life," he told TNT Sports via Manchester Evening News.

The Cameroon goalkeeper, who saved a penalty against Southampton, hopes the England star can kick on after a few difficult weeks.

"Today he came back again, scored an important goal for us and hopefully he'll do much more for us. I'm really happy for him because he needs his goals."

In March this year, YouTuber Mat Armstrong bought it for £184,000 and even purchased another £90,000 Rolls Royce to get parts to fix Rashford's damaged car. Armstrong, his dad, and mechanics meticulously rebuilt the luxury car, from the headrest, body, sidesteps, and other parts.
