Usain Bolt: Sprint Legend Disappointed As Fraud Case Makes No Progress

Usain Bolt is said to be frustrated over the lack of little to no progress on the status of the fraud committed against him over a year ago.

The legendary sprinter reportedly lost over 12.7 million USD last year at the Stocks and Securities Limited (SSL) in Jamaica.

How much did Usain Bolt lose?

Al Jazeera reported that Bolt went to check his account at the private firm in January 2023, only to find 12,000 USD remaining.

The company, which also lost money for other clients, was put under immediate oversight by the Financial Services Commission to enhance investigations into the case.

However, more than a year later, there hasn't been much progress made despite Jamaican authorities also involving the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI).

Usain Bolt frustrated

Bolt's lawyer, Linton Gordon, revealed that his client was desperate to know who stole his money.

"We haven’t had one iota of information regarding the outcome of those investigations. So, we don’t know who took the money; who we can turn to because everything is now undercover," he said, as quoted by Jamaica Gleaner.

The retired legend posted a series of cryptic tweets last week, with many fans wondering whether it had anything to do with his case.

"He’s very frustrated and disappointed. He’s simply shocked and disappointed to know a country he has put on the map, and he put his money in an institution here, that he has lost it or he can’t get it back," said Gordon.

Bolt had invested with the firm for over 10 years. He retired in 2017 after winning eight Olympic gold medals, among other awards. He is still the world record holder in the 100m and 200m races.

In another report, Briefly News reported that Usain Bolt has discussed one Manchester United player who can compete with him in a sprint.
