However, the Dutch international is yet to score again, raising concerns about his ability to lead the line for Erik ten Hag.
Rasmus Hojlund's return to fitness has seen the 23-year-old relegated to substitute appearances as pressure ramps up on him to deliver.
Which club could Zirkzee join?
Reports in Italy now indicate the former Bayern Munich man is ready to return to Italy as early as next year.
Calcio Mercato indicates that Juventus are interested in the forward that could see him reunite with his former boss at Bologna, Thiago Motta. Zirkzee scored 11 goals and set up four as Bologna finished fifth to qualify for the Champions League.
Juventus advised to sign Zirkzee
Former Juventus player Paolo Di Canio has advised the Old Lady to move for Zirkzee, arguing that he is 'too slow' for the Premier League.
"Maybe he will prove me wrong with goals and great performances, but there they attack you straight away. He would be the perfect profile because that would allow Motta to have a striker with different characteristics to Vlahovic," he told Tuttosport via MEN.
Ferguson tipped with coaching return
Briefly News has also reported that a former England international has called for Sir Alex Ferguson to return to the Manchester United dugout amid the uncertainty surrounding Erik ten Hag's future.
While the idea may seem like a fairytale, it is not entirely far-fetched that Ferguson could consider coming out of retirement.
