Jose Mourinho last coached in England in 2021, but he is eyeing a sensational return and has reportedly picked a club.

Before his exit, the legendary tactician was in the dugout at Chelsea (twice), Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Portuguese won three Premier League titles, all of them with Chelsea, but he seems to have unfinished business in England.

Mourinho back in Premier League?

According to The Guardian, the Fenerbahce boss is eyeing the Newcastle United job if Eddie Howe leaves. He sees the coaching role at St James' Park as his best chance of making a return to England.

The report adds that the two-time Champions League winner has asked intermediaries to update him on developments at Newcastle regarding the coaching role.

The former Real Madrid boss met Newcastle’s chairman, Yasir al-Rumayyan, in March and has kept in touch. Mourinho last won the Premier League in 2015.

Mourinho appears to be unhappy in Turkey following an extraordinary rant against the league and its officiating. He joined the Turkish giants in the summer but has had a few controversial moments.

Howe is not under pressure following his team's victories over Chelsea and Arsenal after a shaky start to the 2024/25 season.

Mourinho's knee-slide fails

Briefly News earlier reported that Mourinho attempted and failed a knee-slide during Fenerbahce's clash against Trabzonspor.

After Sofyan Amrabat scored a last-minute winner, Mourinho went for a knee slide to celebrate — only to stumble and hit the ground in an ungraceful but hilarious flop.

Mourinho comments on Amorim

Briefly News earlier reported that Fenerbahce coach and former Man United boss Jose Mourinho shared his opinion on Amorim.

The veteran coach had some nice things to say about his compatriot, who visited him at Carrington in 2018 for an internship.
