Ruben Amorim oversaw his first training session at Manchester United earlier this week after his appointment as coach earlier this month.
The former Sporting CP boss was reportedly impressed with one player who could become a regular in his 3-4-3 formation.
Amorim will coach his first match this weekend away at Ipswich, aiming to close the gap with the top four.
Several players will have a short time to impress the Portuguese coach this week before his first match. Some, like Bruno Fernandes, will be guaranteed starters, while others will have to earn their spot.

Who impressed Amorim?
Amorim took his first training session as Man United boss on Monday, but only 11 senior players were available. However, with the final international break of 2024 over, more players will be available.
According to Give Me Sport, the young coach has taken a liking to Amad Diallo, one of the fan favourites this season.
The Ivorian has been one of the stand-out players this season. The report adds that he has made quite an impression on the new coach and could feature "prominently" in his team.
Diallo was beginning to fall down the pecking order under Amorim's predecessor, Erik ten Hag, and fans were calling for him to get more game time. His technical ability has been evident in the team with few technical players.
Diallo has registered one goal and two assists in nine matches this season and is expected to start in Sunday's clash against Ipswich.
Amorim's warning to players
In another report, Briefly News also reported that Amorim fired a warning to five Man United players in his first interview as a coach.
The head coach said Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho, Leny Yoro, Rasmus Hojlund, and Amad Diallo should be ready to perform as expected.
Man United fans are excited about the 39-year-old's new team. They hope he can transform them like he did at Sporting.
