Nabi on what he told Kaizer Chiefs stars at halftime

In an interview with SuperSport TV, Nabi revealed that he had to find a solution to their struggles in the first half. The Tunisian mentor noticed the low mood in the dressing room during the break and felt the need to intervene.

“We didn’t create many scoring opportunities in the first half,” Nabi told SuperSport TV. “There just weren’t enough chances.”
“I noticed the mood was low in the dressing room at halftime, so I told the players not to worry. I asked for more focus, more intensity, more passion, and I assured them that the goals would come.”

The former AS FAR Rabat coach also admitted his team had a poor start to the second half, especially in the opening 10 minutes. He attributed this to the players still being fatigued from the Mamelodi Sundowns match.

“We had a poor start to the second half, especially in the first 10 minutes. Some of the players were still fatigued from the match against Sundowns, which is understandable,” the Tunisian tactician added.
“The three substitutes made a big impact, and it’s important to remember I said before the match that this would be a tough game. It was indeed very difficult, so I’m really happy – happy for the staff and happy to come away with all three points.”

Kaizer Chiefs players who are not on international duty will have enough rest and will resume the Betway Premiership with a top-of-the-league clash against Sekhukhune United at the FNB Stadium before travelling to Angola to face Kabuscorp S.C.P. in the first leg of their preliminary round in the CAF Confederation Cup.
