“It’s the honest truth, I left because I refused to be treated like a ball boy,” Dithejane shared.
“Before we left, we had a meeting, not a formal disciplinary hearing. They simply told us we had to go, and that was it.”

Dithejane, who was named PSL Player of the Month for August, confirmed that he felt disappointed in the manner in which he left the Soweto-based club, but he has grown over the years and can't look back with regret.

He has also left the door open if in future he has the opportunity to return to Naturena.

“Now, I’m focused on myself. I’ve grown and added value to my career, so I can’t look back with regret,” he added.
“Of course, I felt disappointed about leaving. I had hoped to break into the Kaizer Chiefs first team one day, and maybe that opportunity will come in the future.

"But right now, I’m committed to TS Galaxy and concentrating fully on my game. I was working hard for that spot at Chiefs, but this is where I am now,” Dithejane concluded.

Dithejane's comments on the issues garnered a lot of reactions from Amakhosi fans and others on social media.

Lubha_za said:

"I'm glad he left. Kaizer Chiefs was too disrespectful. At Arsenal, a 15 year old is currently playing in the EPL and drafted in the UEFA Champions League, while in South Africa, Kaizer Chiefs wants to make 18-year-old ball boyz. That's Hugo Broos doesn't rate Chiefs."

sphume_mashiyamahle wrote:

"Phil Foden was once a ball boy, made it into the first team, he’s a proper baller, won PL titles, UCL, treble, you name it. Not once did he complain 😏."

Naphtally Phasha shared:

"This was unnecessary. The boy is building up his momentum and repaying the faith that bra Tim showed to him. We need to work more on the positives for these youngsters and rally behind all of them without pinning them against each other or other teams."

MphozaIce reacted:

"Yamal,Foden, Saka, Pedri Gavi etc were ball boys during their accedemy years at their respective clubs."

Msunduza commented:

"But as a player does he understand how ball boys can influence the match ? Being a ball boy teaches you more than just throwing the ball to players you watch the game closely and learn a lot."

eemz_em added:

"Why are people pained that he's telling a story of how he got fired? If he didn't amount to anything, the same people would say his attitude led to his downfall."
