Orlando Pirates pocketed a significant amount of prize money after their 3-0 extra-time triumph over Stellenbosch FC to secure the 2025 MTN8 title.

The match remained deadlocked after regulation time, but in extra time, the Soweto giants seized the momentum, with substitutes Tshepang Moremi and Tshegofatso Mabasa finding the back of the net.

The victory secured a fourth consecutive Wafa Wafa title for Pirates, with the Buccaneers also cashing in handsomely from the win.

Pirates' prize money for MTN8

Orlando Pirates not only return to Soweto with the title but also a substantial amount of prize money earned by the Sea Robbers.

The Soweto giants were paid R10 million, while runner-up Stellenbosch FC and the other six teams that participated in the competition each received R1 million.
