The South African Football Association (SAFA) has advertised a National Teams Manager position, days after Pitso Mosimane was appointed Bafana Bafana head coach for a third spell.
SAFA published the vacancy on 7 September 2026, six days after Mosimane’s appointment was confirmed on 1 September. The coach would need to get to work immediately, with South Africa preparing for AFCON 2027 qualifiers against Guinea and Eritrea.
SAFA describes the vacancy as a permanent, Level 6 position reporting to the Technical Director. The successful candidate will handle the “strategic planning, administration, coordination, and operational management of all national teams”.

What the SAFA role involves
The manager will oversee training and match programmes, camps, accommodation, travel and international tournaments. The position also includes coordinating security, kit management, media and other support functions.
SAFA further expects the manager to oversee player call-ups, national-team databases, budgets and operational meetings.
Applicants must have either a relevant bachelor's degree with at least five years' experience or matric with 10 years' relevant experience.
