World Rugby announced that the Springboks and the All Blacks will be playing in their traditional green-and-gold and black-and-white colours for the Rugby World Cup finals, respectively.

South Africans celebrated the news and exclaimed that they were glad the national team would not be playing the final in their turquoise kit.

Springboks wear traditional colours

World Rugby announced and confirmed that the South African rugby team will represent Mzansi in the traditional green and gold. The New Zealand side will don the traditional black outfit. SABC News said the last time the two teams met at a final was in 1995, when the Springboks lifted the World Cup with Francois Pienaar leading the charge.

It was a momentous occasion as it was the first World Cup the Springboks won after South Africa held their first democratic votes in 1994. The match is expected to be the clash of titans as both teams have won the World Cup more than once.

Wayne Barnes to be RWC final referee

Barnes will be the official between the Springboks and All Blacks as they go against each other for the coveted Webb Ellis Cup. Netizens were relieved that Barnes has been selected as he has experience refereeing at World Cups.
