Venter, who made his Springboks debut in July 2024 against Portugal, comes from rugby royalty. He is the son of former Springboks flanker André Venter, who earned 66 caps for South Africa between 1996 and 2001 and was part of the squad that finished third at the 1999 Rugby World Cup in the United Kingdom.

Rugby talent runs deep in Andre-Hugo’s veins. He attended Grey College in Bloemfontein, one of South Africa’s most prestigious rugby schools, before moving on to Stellenbosch University to study accounting.
