Springboks coach Rassie Erasmus has refused to be drawn into the controversy surrounding Argentina's discipline ahead of South Africa's Rugby Championship clash in Buenos Aires on Saturday, 8 August 2026. Instead of discussing Los Pumas' recent disciplinary issues, Erasmus said the world champions are concentrating on the demanding task of winning away from home.
Argentina came under scrutiny after seven yellow cards were shown during their 31-24 defeat to England on 25 July. Flyhalf Tomás Albornoz was later charged by World Rugby over alleged misconduct.
According to Rugby365, Erasmus said it was not South Africa's place to comment on those incidents.
"It's not for us to comment," he said.

Springboks expect another physical battle
Rather than reading too much into Argentina's previous match, Erasmus said the Springboks have always regarded Los Pumas as a tough but fair opponent.
He explained that South Africa's previous meetings with Argentina have never suggested they are an unsporting side, despite their physical style of play.
Erasmus also reminded supporters that Buenos Aires has proved a difficult venue for the Springboks in the past, making Saturday's fixture another major test.
New-look Los Pumas present selection puzzle
The Springboks are also preparing for an unfamiliar Argentina side after Felipe Contepomi included 10 new players in his squad.
Erasmus admitted that the fresh faces make analysis more difficult, but insisted South Africa's preparations remain centred on delivering a strong performance rather than dwelling on off-field debate.
The Rugby Championship clash kicks off at 21:00 South African time on Saturday, 8 August 2026 as the Springboks look to begin their campaign with an important away victory.
