After dating for a total of 11 years and becoming parents to two sons aged nine and three, lovebirds Chaka Zulu and Emmah Chanda finally walked down the aisle.

According to Nkani, the two started dating in 2011 and have enjoyed over a decade of inspiring friendship and companionship but had never made it official.

Chaka, a logistician and politician engaged journalist Emmah for 11 years but the two continued living apart until recently.

Lovers share birthdays in November

Details indicate that the wedding took place at the Solwezi Civic Centre after a colorful and delicious traditional food presentation by the bride's family.

Photos from the African-themed marriage were shared on Facebook by photographer Edwin Mwanza Jr aka Mr Malaiti.

"They exchanged their marital vows and later had a reception luncheon for close friends and family at Kasanshi Hotel in Solwezi," reads the report on Nkani.

Close friends to the groom said the "10th" anniversary celebration has been slated for November as the couple share birthdays.

Members of the public showered the newlyweds congratulatory messages for cementing the years of togetherness.

Others, however, faulted the man for keeping the bride too long before making the marriage official.
