In partnership with LUX South Africa, fans have taken to social media to show their support to Caster. LUX is backing Caster in this battle and started the wave of support among celebrities.
“Many super athletes are born with extraordinary biology. Like them, Caster Semenya was born this way. So why ban her? We believe no woman should be stripped of being a woman. Let Caster run free. #IStandWithCaster @caster800m”
Here are just a few of the celebrities who have taken to social media to back Caster:
Somizi Mhlongo
“Imagine waking up one day and you're told there's something wrong with you or the way you were naturally born... just because your greatness is too much for other humans to comprehend... If anyone can make me understand WHY do this to our CASTER. HAND OFF CASTER #IStandWithCaster #MyBeautyMyStrength #LUXSOUTHAFRICA #LUX @lux_southafrica @castersemenya800m”
Mpho Letsholonyane
“Thank you @lux_southafrica for the chance to stand in solidarity with @castersemenya800m. Join me, sign the petition on my bio and pledge your support as well #IStandWithCaster #MyBeautyMyStrength #LUXSOUTHAFRICA #LUX”

“The policing over women's bodies, the boxing us and stripping away of our autonomy has become a norm. It seems like everyone wants to tell us who we are or who we should be. Women are not just one thing. We are multi-faceted! We come in all shapes, shades and sizes.
"It breaks my heart that Caster Semenya has been banned from competing in the 800m race at the 2021 Olympics because someone else has decided her womanhood for her. I want to play my part rallying behind not only @castersemenya800m but other women who are to come after her.
"#IStandWithCaster and if you do too, join myself and @lux_southafrica on this wonderful campaign by signing the petition. See link in bio!”

Briefly News previously reported that Caster Semenya spoke to The Guardian newspaper and said that she would not take any medication to suppress her testosterone levels.
Semenya is currently banned from taking part in 400m and 1 500m track events by the International Association of Athletics Federation's (IAAF) after the organisation ruled that she could only take part in the events if her testosterone levels were suppressed.
The athlete claimed that her testosterone levels had nothing to do with her success and that it was her intensive training that ensured her success.
