Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema has finally broken his silence following the chaos that erupted during last week's session of the Pan-African Parliament.

The politician, who is known for not mincing his words, reportedly said he was reacting to an alleged threat made against him by an MP from Mali.

TimesLIVE reported that Malema hurled insults and threatened to kill a member of Mali's delegation during the fourth ordinary session of the fifth parliament. Malema said he had asked the Mali MP to keep quiet so they could listen.

He said the MP then started being aggressive and threatened to kill him. Malema said the reaction was triggered by the alleged threat.

"When a person says to me 'I will kill you', I can't give him roses," Malema told the SABC News.
