Born into money: Meet the sons of 5 of South Africa's wealthiest families
A lot of people must work their way up to become rich, but some rich kids are lucky enough to be born into wealthy families.

South Africa is not short of millionaires, who have children of their own. So, Briefly.co.za decided to take a look at the sons of some of the wealthiest people in the country.
1. Jonathan Oppenheimer
Jonathan Oppenheimer is the son of the wealthiest man in South Africa, Nicky Oppenheimer. His father has an estimated net worth of $7.7 billion, over R96.8 billion, which places him on number one of Forbes’ list of richest people in SA.
Jonathan followed in his dad’s footsteps and became a businessman, working most of his life in Anglo American Corporation and De Beers diamond mining company.
2. Anton Rupert Jr.
The son of Johann Rupert, who is the second wealthiest man in South Africa. Like most kids with rich parents, Anton enjoyed a lot of luxuries, which included driving around in a Ferrari his dad owned, which the then 22-year-old crashed in 2008.

3. Jacob Wiese
Jacob is the son of Christo Wiese, who lost his dollar billionaire status after the Steinhoff scandal. However, he still remains the third richest man in SA.
Jacob followed in his dad’s footsteps and became a businessman. The 31-year-old works as an alternate and/or non-executive director of his dad’s companies.
4. Kgosi, Thlopie and Kabelo Motsepe
The three sons of South African billionaire, and brother-in-law of Cyril Ramaphosa, Patrice Motsepe.
Not much is known about the Motsepe family, other than their father is really rich. The three young men keep their private lives out of the spot light, just as their dad does.
5. Piet Mouton
Piet is the son of Jannie Mouton, the founder of PSG. Piet followed in his dad’s footsteps and took over the family business after his retirement, making him the current CEO of PSG.
