EFF Chairperson Dali Mpofu has slammed the 'fools' who mocked Ringo Madlingozi, one of the party's new MPs. Mpofu had thanked Eugene Mthethwa for expressing his disgust at the treatment the pop star had suffered at the hand of ANC leaders.
The EFF's Ringo Madlingozi has raised a few eyebrows in Parliament as he debuted as a MP earlier this week.
Dali Mpofu came to his defence, criticising the 'fools' who could laugh at the 'cultural giant' taking his place on the benches of the National Assembly.
Eugene Mthethwa had taken to social media to stick up for Ringo, denouncing the 'immaturity and political intolerance' of ANC leaders:
“Their reactions towards him really embarrassed me when, as a country, regardless of our political affiliation, we need to rally behind the president of the Republic of South Africa in building a better country for all.”
This had prompted appreciation from Mpofu, who had thanked Mthethwa for his efforts, reports TimesLIVE.
Meanwhile, Mpofu was recently in the spotlight for getting on the wrong side of EFF leader Julius Malema, who had accused him of laziness in the run-up to the elections.
Briefly.co.za reported earlier that despite this, Mpofu denied any bad blood between the two of them.
