Alpheus Kekana has come a long way since his youth days where he was affiliated to the Zebediela Junior Swallows and Tshiamo Soccer Academy until 2004. Today, he is a successful player with impressive stats and an admirable lifestyle.
Career
After the academies in his junior days, Alpheus signed for the Black Leopards where he stayed from 2004 to 2005. Between 2005 and 2011, he represented several football clubs including City Pillars, Black Leopards, Supersport United, and Bloemfontein Celtic. He then signed for Mamelodi Sundowns in 2011 and has made 136 appearances so far and scored 15 goals (the highest he has scored for a club). He is also the team's captain and among his successes is seeing the team win the 2016 CAF Champions League while wearing the number 8 jersey.
Internationally, Kekana plays for the South Africa football team. He has played for the SA team since 2011 and has made 24 appearances and scored five goals as of October 2018.
