Many footballers are known for their flashy lifestyles - whether it is showing off their mansions or impressive whips.

However, there are those who are satisfied with their affordable cars. Briefly.co.za took a look at five PSL players who drive everyday Volkswagen cars that most people can afford.

1. Grant Margeman

Grant Margeman, who is set to join the Mamelodi Sundowns soon, has posted a couple of photos online showing off his Volkswagen Polo.

2. Thabo Rakhale

Okay, so in some of the images on Thabo Takhale's Instagram account, there are a couple of pricey cars - including BMWs - however, the Chippa United footballer also owns a tricked-out VW City Golf.

According to Soccer Laduma, the car can cost as little as R35 000 depending on the model.

3. Matlala Makgalwa

Sundowns star Matlala Makgalwa appears to be a Volkswagen fan. In several photos on his social media accounts, he can be seen posing with VW cars.

He also owned an older Polo, Soccer Laduma reported.

4. Vuyo Mere

Vuyo Mere owns a Volkswagen Golf 3 - which has a VR6 engine in. The VR6 motors are known for their exceptional sound and enough speed to win over any petrolhead.

5. Dumisani Zuma

Like Margeman, Dumisani Zuma also owns a Volkswagen Polo. The Kaizer Chiefs midfielder has also posted snaps of his whip on Instagram.
