- Connie and Shona Ferguson are once again trending on social media but for the wrong reasons
- The producers have been called out by one of their former employees for mistreatment
- The Queen actor claims the couple deceived him and made him pay to be on TV
Mlamli Mangcala has become the latest actor to call Connie and Shona Ferguson out. Mangcala, who played the character of Captain Sthembiso Radebe on The Queen, has alleged the power couple deceived him.
In a letter shared on social media, Mangcala claims that he lost his house and car after the Ferguson's promised him better rates but it never happened. He revealed that he has left The Queen and is in financial distress.
Mangcala went on to allege that he was deceived and had to cover his own travel and accommodation costs from Cape Town to Johannesburg to shoot the soapie. He claims that he was asked to sleep in "the Khoza mansion" and shared a bed with the caretaker of the house.
Mangcala said the only increase he received was R100 twice after he attempted to ask for a raise. After raising his concerns, the actor's contract was terminated.
Mangcala said it only hit him now that he was tricked by the producers.
“Fergusons Films made me to pay for being on TV."
According to Sunday World, Connie Ferguson confirmed Mangcala’s exit from soapie, adding that the character was always going to leave with Jerry Maake, played by Shona Ferguson.
#TheFergusonsFilms trended online as social media users weighed in on the allegations. Twitter user mandisa_canda said:
"Fergusons are black slave drivers! If they can't be fair to our citizens they must go back to their country and exploit their people."
"This is honestly disgusting and inhumane hey..."
"I keep asking myself one question, would he had spoken out had they not killed his character? This is clearly a bitter actor. After all they've "done" to him he accepted and kept his mouth shut. The Fergusons' sin is to kill his character."
"When dishing out this statement, can he also not forget to attach the contract he signed with the Fergusons. We need to understand everything before jumping the gun like what we did in the past."
Meanwhile, Briefly.co.za reported that Fundiswa Zwane has reportedly been fired from Imbewu: The Seed. The surprise exit comes after the star's management allegedly asked requested a pay increase for her. Rumours are that the actress will be replaced by Brenda Mhlongo.
According to Isolezwe, Brenda only found out about her dismissal when she was told by others. The publication reports that she was very surprised. Brenda has already started filming and will be appearing on screens soon.
