- Big Zulu has hinted that he is unhappy with Ukhozi FM's Song of the Year results
- Big Zulu's Imali Eningi lost to Khuzani's Maskandi track titled Ijele
- Big Zulu reacted with a sad face emoji to a politician's tweet about Ukhozi FM's results
Big Zulu has suggested that he is not happy with the Song of the Year results on Ukhozi FM. The rapper had one of the most popular songs in the festive season.
His track titled Imali Eningi was one of the songs on the popular radio station's Top 10 tracks that were competing for the Song of the Year spot which was voted for by the public.
Unfortunately Nkabi's track wasn't the winner. Khuzani's Maskandi song titled Ijele took the number one spot after receiving 957 950 votes. Big Zulu took to Twitter on 2 December to react to a post by a politician who was complaining that Imali Eningi didn't win.
Vusi Khoza shared that Imali Eningi deserved to be the Song of the Year on Ukhozi FM after KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala congratulated Khuzani.
The artist reacted to Khoza's post with a pensive face emoji which conveys a variety of sad emotions including feeling disappointed.
Other tweeps also shared their thoughts on Big Zulu's reaction to the politician's post about Ukhozi FM's Song of the Year. Check out some of their comments below:
"Imali Eningi is the song of the year apha kum (for me)... anyone who wants to argue go argue with your fork and knife."
"Maybe you should have used a lot of guitar and made it sound more like Maskandi and called it hip-skandi (hip hop + Maskandi). Maskandi fans want more than just Brentwood, you need to back it up with a guitar. Maybe they would have voted for you."
"Nkabi... you shouldn't be entertaining such statements... Multiple voting has always been allowed (doesn’t mean it's right). But you knew the terms before competing. Maskadi lovers mobilize their fans and they vote thousands times per person."
"We no longer care who says what... OKSALAYO (what matters is) we entered the New Year with a blast nge #ImaliEningi."
In other entertainment news, Briefly.co.za reported that Cassper Nyovest recently gave Big Zulu's smash hit titled Imali Eningi his stamp of approval. The Amademoni hitmaker took to social media recently to share his views on the epic track.
The song trended on Twitter in December. Cass took to the micro-blogging app on Saturday, 5 December and shared that he's also feeling the track. Big Zulu features Intaba Yase Dubai and Riky Rick on the single.
The hashtag #ImaliEningi is still trended high on Twitter on Tuesday, 8 December. Cass congratulated Big Zulu for dropping the number with such catchy lyrics. Zulu, Riky and Intaba sing about having a lot of money and eating meat on the viral track. Mufasa wrote:
"@BigZulu_ZN big big big song!!!! Congrats!!!!"
