Mzansi rapper Big Zulu recently had an interview with podcaster Mac G for his show Podcast and Chill and spoke about a number of topics. One of the things Big Zulu spoke about was who his favourite rappers in the country are.
Briefly.co.za takes a deeper look at the rappers that Big Zulu named on his list.
1. Zakwe
Zakwe is a rapper who hails from KwaMashua, KwaZulu-Natal. Big Zulu describes Zakwe as his brother and says that they go way back.
"He has carried me for a long time and he has never forsaken me," said Big Zulu.
2. Kwesta
Kwesta is a favourite in South Africa with hits such as Ngud' and Spirit. He's known for having a deeply authentic voice that nobody can quite match. Big Zulu mentioned him as one of his favourites as well.
"Kwesta? That is also my brother. We lived with him. He has never had any problems," said Big Zulu.
3. ProKid
The late ProKid also made it to the list of Big Zulu's favourite rappers. The Mzansi rapper passed away in 2018 but his memory still lives on in the hearts of his fans and Big Zulu. Speaking about ProKid, Big Zulu only had good things to say:
"My hero Pro has left me. I think he was a hero to all of us."
4. Youngsta CPT
Big Zulu's mention of Youngsta CPT was unexpected since their sounds are totally different. However, that doesn't matter to Big Zulu and he just appreciates the music.
"Even though I don't understand him, I can hear his rhythm and flow," said the rapper.
In other entertainment news, Briefly.co.za previously reported that Big Zulu commented on Nasty C's Zulu Man With Some Power title. Big Zulu has shared his thoughts on Nasty C's album name, Zulu Man With Some Power.
The Imali Eningi hitmaker made the comments during a recent interview on MacG's Podcast and Chill. MacG asked Big Zulu whether the There They Go hitmaker was misappropriating the Zulu culture by calling himself a "Zulu Man With Some Power".
