When Gomora came onto the scene, fans were excited about what the new telenovela would bring. Now that the first season is coming to an end, Mzansi has been wondering if they'll get the chance to see Season 2 - and that wish is coming true for the producers. Gomora has been renewed.
Taking to social media, Lulu Hela, the telenovela's producer announced that her beautiful project was going to see a new season hit the screens. She tweeted:
"Grateful to our exceptionally talented and hardworking cast and crew for creating magic every day! Grateful to our fans and supporters, thank you for loving our show as much as we do!"
Lulu described Gomora as her passion project and is delighted with the warm reception the show has received. Mzansi social media users are just as excited. Check out the reactions below:
"I never missed a single episode... Here's to a few more seasons. Well done guys."
"I hope Mel ends up with Nthati, Gladys is rude and disrespectful to her husband, she can flip Mel anywhere anytime."
"I said before, 'Gomora' is like a reality TV show. The story line is centred around what's happening in our day-to-day life activities."
In other entertainment news, Briefly News reported that TV drama Lingashoni flopped and failed to get into the list of top shows in Mzansi. Lingashoni has failed to rake in the viewers it expected to receive.
The telenovela, produced by Stained Glass TV, is not doing so well and couldn't even break into the Top 30 most-watched shows in Mzansi.
According to entertainment blogger Phil Mphela, the show has had a bit of a rough start and it's not what was expected.
"The 1Magic show was available to Compact viewers when it premiered on 22nd until 28 March but failed to attract enough viewers to crack DStv’s Top 30 list in March," tweeted Phil.
