Dr Malinga, who has been through financial woes, thanked celebrities who came to his aid. His public meltdown on Podcast and Chill with MacG triggered South Africans and celebs to come to the rescue of the beloved Malinga.
He started by thanking DJ Black Coffee on Friday night, saying his "help means a lot." Malinga showed appreciation to singer Busiswa and Oskido for always being there for him and supporting him.
Dr Malinga gave a shout-out to Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema and said:
"I'd like to thank Julius Malema for reaching out to me, thanks my brother for being attached to the people who need help, you're such a great example. Thanks bye!"
Malinga expressed his gratitude to his fans, and many have made personal donations to the artist, who is close to losing his house if his financial status doesn't improve. He tweeted:
"Thanks to all my fans who are just amazing every second of my life, thanks bye."
He finally thanked Makhadzi, who has been the most vocal about helping Malinga, for booking him to perform at her one-woman show in Limpopo.
Fans were confused by the "Thanks bye" he wrote at the end of all his tweets. Some thought the tone was off, and other fans thought it was just his playful character coming through.
