More on the March and March Movement
Award-winning radio presenter Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma founded the group, which protests against illegal immigration in the country. Members of the group were unhappy that undocumented foreign nationals could access healthcare and other services the country had to offer.
While Jacinta may feel the movement is a worthy cause, it has allegedly landed her in hot water with her former employer. On 20 July, Jacinta released a statement which read that Vuma FM fired her on 15 July, with her last day at the radio station being 31 July.
Vuma FM denied that they dismissed Jacinta, sharing that it was "a natural conclusion of an independent contractor's term."

Jacinta alleged the termination letter didn't provide a reason. However, it came to her attention that a third party had complained.
Many suspect the external individual to be KwaZulu-Natal Health MEC Nomagugu Simelane, who had denied any involvement in the axing. This comes after the politician voiced her disapproval of the protests outside Addington Hospital in Durban.

While the march was relatively peaceful in Durban, tensions rose in a Johannesburg suburb when group members attempted to hand over a memorandum at the offices of the Socio-Economic Rights Institute (SERI).
