2022AFRICA revealed in a Twitter (X) post that the EP is officially the most streamed project in 2025 by a South African artist.
Prior to its release, Tyla dropped lead singles Bliss and Is It to build anticipation for her new project, and the singer had once more beaten the one-hit-wonder allegations.
Tyla lands in a legal nightmare
However, not all news was good news for the singer after she and her team were served legal papers.
Briefly News reports that Tyla's breakout single, Water, is at the centre of a royalty lawsuit after two California-based producers and songwriters have taken her record label to court.
They allege that they were left out of the credits and thus did not receive their share of the royalties from the global hit.

Meanwhile, the main producer of the song reportedly received full production credits. Zucca and LoMastro, the other contributors, claim they attempted to settle the matter privately with the producer, who allegedly refused to negotiate.
"In violation of plaintiffs’ rights, Awuku has taken sole credit for the entire production of the song, negotiated and entered into a producer agreement directly with [Tyla] Seethal, failed to tell plaintiffs (or Goufar) about it, and failed to cut plaintiffs in on equal terms."
South Africans debate over Shekhinah and Tyla
In more Tyla updates, Briefly News shared online reactions to the singer being compared to Shekhinah.
A South African social media user claimed the Suited hitmaker could have reached global success like Tyla, saying she's far better than her, but people slammed them:
Lowkey_Theseus said:
“I’m a fan of Shekhinah, and I hardly listen to Tyla, but the only thing Shekhinah has over Tyla is songwriting. As vocalists, they are not in the same tier; I won’t even touch appeal and PR. Shekhinah was having organic growth until it was stunted by Amapiano, which made Tyla.”
While both fan bases went head to head defending their faves, the singers' mutual respect and admiration are evident in their interactions and support for one another.
Shekhinah recently showed love to Tyla and her new single, leaving fans hopeful for a potential collaboration.
Before that, Tyla went viral on social media after a video of her younger self singing Shekhinah's hit song resurfaced online.
