One fan recently threatened to cut ties with Kaya 959 after Sol Phenduka was suspended. The Podcast and Chill star and co-host of Siz The World with Sizwe Dhlomo and Mpho Maboi was suspended with immediate effect on 20 August 2025 pending an investigation.
While many fans continue to rally behind their favourite radio host, some have resorted to boycotting the radio station in solidarity.
One online user, SthieHarambe, posted a tweet on 25 August, urging others to cut ties with the station should Sol not be reinstated:
"@KayaON959 If they switch off the mic on @Solphendukaa over the Minnie saga, we switch off the radio. We migrate to 'It's where you at,' Simple. Nothing personal at Dinangwe, @SizweDhlomo."

Reacting to the threat, Sizwe, who previously assured fans that Sol was going nowhere, seemed unbothered by the threat and simply bid farewell to the listener:
"It’s all good, my G. No worries at all."
This comes after Briefly News confirmed the real reason Sol was suspended. And as the saga continues, many suspect that he and his fans may have to find a new home soon.
Briefly News asked financial expert Fulufhelani Mashapha about how high-profile public disputes, such as Sol Phenduka’s suspension, financially affect South Africa’s media industry. She said:
"This can trigger a domino effect-lower sponsorships, reduced event bookings, and declining audience trust-which directly affects profitability and industry growth. Over time, such events push media houses to tighten compliance, enhance reputation management, and reassess the risk profiles of their on-air personalities."

Sizwe's reaction seemingly caused a ripple effect, causing more listeners to consider alternative stations should Sol not return to Kaya.
Much to fans' surprise, the podcaster revealed that other radio stations had been reaching out to him amid his suspension. This further proves that he's not just an asset to listeners, but to the broadcasting community at large:
phunyas1 found a plan B:
"DJ Sbu's breakfast show is actually not bad."
gugulethu_prety was also leaving:
"I'm also done, I'm sorry, Uncle Siz. I love Sol too much."
Vhadauvhadamani realised:

Meanwhile, others continue to wonder what will happen to Sol and pleaded with Sizwe to help bring him back:
GeeLusapho said:
"But on a serious note, Siz, Sol doesn't deserve this."
Mandela_11 pleaded:
"Dinangwe, please, help bring back our brother Solomz."
SegweMG added:
"It was hard to accept @Mfundo_Mabalane's departure, but coupled with @Solphendukaa's departure, the show isn't the same. I really hope he is not fired. I mean, @MaBlerh has also left a void. Yho hai no, can Kaya please fix this?"
Why did Kaya FM suspend Sol Phenduka?
Sol Phenduka's name has been charting trends and hogging headlines following the reports of his suspension. The controversial media personality confirmed during an episode of Podcast & Chill that he was suspended for seven days because of Minnie Dlamini's R2.5 million lawsuit against him and co-host MacG.
Minnie Dlamini is taking the podcasters to the cleaners after their alleged derogatory statements about her on their popular show. The comment that added fuel to the fire was MacG's statement about Minnie allegedly having body odour after her relationship with celebrity plastic surgeon Dr Brian Monaisa ended.
Nota Baloyi blames MacG for Sol Phenduka's suspension
In an earlier report, Briefly News shared Nota Baloyi's reaction to Sol Phenduka's suspension from Kaya 959.
The controversial podcaster blamed Sol's Podcast and Chill co-host MacG for costing Sol Phenduka his job over the Minnie Dlamini saga.
