Netflix South Africa sparked a flurry of reactions after thirsting over a picture of veteran South African actor Thapelo Mokoena on X (Twitter).

Mokoena reprised his role as Judge Leonard Mahlati in Season 2 of the hit Netflix series Fatal Seduction which premiered on Friday, 15 August 2025. Netflix South Africa has been promoting Season 2 of the adult series which features Warren Masemola, former Scandal! actress Xolile Tshabalala, among others as new cast members, but several netizens believe the streaming giant might have gone a bit overboard in its caption to one Thapelo Mokoena’s photos.

Netflix thirsts over photo of Thapelo Mokoena

On Wednesday, 27 August 2025, Netflix SA shared a picture of Thapelo Mokoena posing at the premiere of Fatal Seduction Season 2, where Warren Masemola stole the spotlight with his eyebrow raising outfit. The picture was captioned:

“Stumbled upon this picture of Thapelo Mokoena and I have nothing innocent to say! 🧎🏽‍♀️🥹”

Social media user @ZeeRight was among the netizens who took Netflix South Africa to task over the caption, suggesting that its tone was unprofessional. The reaction read:

Thapelo Mokoena shared a behind-the-scenes photo revealing his makeover for his role as Leonard Mahlatsi. Taking to his Instagram account on Thursday, 24 July 2025, Thapelo Mokoena shared a picture of himself with full grown hair instead of his signature bald cut, among other changes to his physical appearance.
