Marked actress Ama Qamata celebrated her birthday on Tuesday, 2 September 2025, a day after her father passed away on Monday, 1 September 2025.
Qamata, who is famously known for her role as Buhle in Mzansi Magic's Gomora, mourned her father by sharing photos of him on her Instagram stories on Tuesday.
She wrote: "I miss you so much, Papa. I can't believe I'll never see you again. My heart is broken."
Qamata also shared that Marcus was the best dad in the world to her and her siblings, and that she will never forget him.

She also played one of her dad's favourite songs on her Instagram story, and wrote: "This was your favourite song! I can still vividly remember your Sunday ritual sitting by the patio, smoking your cigarette, reading a newspaper or a book, and listening to music all afternoon."
The actress took to her Instagram account on Wednesday, 3 September 2025, to thank South Africans for wishing her a happy birthday.
"Thank you for the birthday wishes and all of the love everyone has been pouring into me," she wrote.
