South African hip hop rapper Da LES recently made headlines once again on social media following months of him recovering from a stroke.
On Thursday, 4 September 2025, the star posted a new picture of himself on X (formerly Twitter), which had fans showering him with love since his health scare on his birthday in 2024.

The South African rapper Da LES suffered a stroke at home in July 2024, and since then, many netizens have been curious about how he is doing and where he is now since he was discharged from the hospital.

In March 2025, sources close to the All Eyes On Me hitmaker shared that the star flew out to the United States after being discharged to recover under his mother, Priscillar Mampe's care.
The source further mentioned that Da LES was born in the state, and growing up, he used to go there often to visit his mother; however, the friend didn't disclose the star's ongoing condition at that time.
"His mom took him with her, so she is present in his recovery, and he can get better medical care,” the friend said.
Lvovo's hopeful despite 10% of his body still not functioning
Briefly News previously reported that in 2022, South African kwaito artist Lvovo Derrango was dealt a heavy blow when he suffered a minor stroke mid-performance in Ndwedwe, KwaZulu-Natal. The artist has now shared an update regarding his health, revealing that his body is about 90% functional post-stroke.
The 44-year-old musician spoke candidly to Isolezwe about his health and career. He shared that his recovery is almost complete, as he can drive, walk and stand without aid. However, the Bayangisukela hitmaker explained that he still struggles with 10% of his body functions, including the fingers on his left hand, which look deformed.
