The Megacy is still showing up for rapper Kiernan 'AKA' Forbes'. Mass Country, the album which was released posthumously, has reached an epic milestone.

Mass Country is the fourth studio album of the late AKA, and it was officially released two weeks after he was murdered. The album, which recently turned two years old, has memorable hits such as Lemons (Lemonade) featuring Nasty C, Prada featuring Khuli Chana, Paradise featuring Musa Keys and many more hits.

AKA's album reaches milestone

According to SA Hip Hop Mag, the album, which fuses hip-hop, amapiano and a few touches of afro-pop, has surpassed 42 million worldwide streams on Spotify.

A year after it was released, the album surpassed 99 million streams in Mzansi. This milestone is another affirmation that the Megacy has and always has AKA's back.

Speaking of the success of the project, his mother, Lynn Forbes, expressed gratitude to AKA's fans for the outpouring of love.

“It’s overwhelming in the most beautiful way. To think that Mass Country has been streamed on Spotify more than 45 million times worldwide. It shows that Kiernan’s voice, his spirit, and his message are still alive and resonating. For me, it’s a reminder that even though he’s no longer here, his art continues to move people and carry the South African flag far and wide. It makes me proud, but also deeply grateful to the Megacy for keeping his legacy alive,” she was quoted as saying.

Taking to Instagram, AKA's team, which runs the page on his behalf, shared this wonderful milestone, thanking his fans around the globe.

Although this is the last album he has released, AKA has appeared on a few songs since his death. One of them was on fellow rapper and friend K.O, who announced that the rapper was featured on his album I Think You Spoke Too Soon.

K.O praised his friend for being a timeless soul who was able to deliver a verse so fresh.

"Still fks me up listening to this @akaworldwide verse on my album smh, so fresh and so meticulously delivered like the man sent it to me a few days ago. Such a divine talent."

AKA's murder trial to begin in 2026

In a previous report from Briefly News, Kiernan 'AKA' Forbes and his celebrity chef friend Tebello 'Tibz' Motsoane's murder trial has been set for July 2026.

Five men accused of murdering the two personalities appeared at the Durban High Court on Wednesday, 13 August 2025, when it was announced that the pre-trial had been pushed to June 2026.

These five suspects are Muziwenkosi Harvey Gwabeni, Lindokuhle Ndimande, Lindokuhle Mkhwanazi, Siyanda Myeza, and Lindani Ndimande.
